Happy Birthday, Bill
My dad turns 70 today. It’s odd to think about. It’s kind of hard to think about. Both of my parents have been in somewhat poor health for a while, but when you put a number to it, it becomes a little more concrete. 70. People die at 70. Sure people die at any age, but people are expected to start dying at 70. It’s not a shocker when it happens. It makes me think about my own...
*Sigh*
Well, Elise is gone again for the week. She’ll be back late Thursday night. And then next week, she’s gone to St. Louis for two weeks. We had a nice weekend together, but it sucks when she has to leave. I know it sucks for her, too, but we both know it’ll pay off in the end.
Not a lot going on tonight. I got some rum in the fridge. 5/6’s of a Six-pack of Sam Adams. And a...
Rain, rain go away...
This is the fucking Sunshine State!
So, I didn’t go to the baseball game last night because it was raining. Apparently, they had it anyway. I plan on going tonight, but it’s 5pm and of course, it’s fucking raining. I guess I’ll see what 7 o’clock brings.
I actually did things today. No, not those things, pervert. Productive things. After my morning session of...
So much to do...
So little will to do it.
The hard part isn’t finding something to occupy your time with. The hard part is moving yourself to follow through.
Things I should be doing today:
Review CL’s book for Press1.
Work on Ball and Chain screenplay
Work on Here Today screenplay
Film footage for “US-441/US27” video poem.
Brush my teeth.
I’m hoping to at least knock 2 of...

Americana at its finest...
We went to a baseball game tonight. The Leesburg Lightning of the FCSL. It’s a 6-team league here in central Florida made up of college players. It was a good time, even though we lost 6-0. Yeah, I said “we”. I love baseball, and this is baseball at its finest, so I’m adopting the team as my own. I’ve been pretty much disenfranchised with the sport for a long time,...
For the second day in a row, I’ve gotten up at 7am to go walking. I also walk in the evening. My body is heavy and sore most of the time, so I figure maybe this is my last shot at turning it around. I’ll let you know in a week or a month how it’s going. They say you have to do something 20 days in a row for it to becomeĀ a habit, or something like that.
I just finished reading...
Check Check...One Two...Yeah Yeah Yeah Yeah
So, we headed down to O-Town for the free concert today. Wow. It’s all I have to say. We heard the world’s longest soundcheck. it must’ve last an hour or so. The irony is that when the first band started playing, it sounded like shit. The mics were off the amps were off. It took them a couple of songs to fix it, and by that time, we realized that the band also sucked. It was a...
I got a pocket full of kryptonite
So, we’re heading down to Orlando for a free show, Spin Doctors and Eddie Money. There’s also a local cover band opening up. I listened to them online and they’re decent. Should be fun in the sun.
After a strong writing start here at the new house, I’ve hit a bit of a slump. I got out of a groove because I allowed some outside nonsense to take my focus away. What I need is...
Time
I’m so overwhelmed with time that I find it hard to actually do anything. People always say “There’s not enough time in the day to do everything.”, but I’m having the opposite problem. I have so much time, I can’t seem to focus on anything, and consequently, nothing gets done.
I owe myself like 30 pages of a screenplay.
I need to make a music video.
I need to...
Maybe...
Things are never what they seem to be.
Or maybe they’re exactly what they seemed to be, and that why I doubted it.

You exist so long in survival mode, you forget how to just live.
It’s a process, getting back to normal, or even better, getting to the normal you never knew.

It's all coming together...
We’ve been at the lake house here in Leesburg Bug City for a few days, and things are finally starting to take shape. The house is great. There have been a couple of minor problems, but the landlord takes care of them quickly. We got Internet set up on both computers, finally. We had a cool viewing of the space shuttle launch from the dock down on the lake. I grilled some burgers yesterday....
