Let's call it No Year's Eve
So, I don’t know that I’m actually doing anything for New Year’s Eve. The thing I wanted to do with my friends sold out before I bought my ticket for it.
Mostly, I want to get confirmation from this job about being hired and my official wages so I can get back with this apartment and get moved in. I can’t fathom a scenario where I’m not getting the job after the drug...

Your eyes touch me physically…
– Scandal, from the song “The Warrior.” What the hell does that mean? Like he was touching her with his eyeballs? My first thought was, “that makes no sense.” My second thought was that she’s referring to him performing oral sex on her and his face is so buried in her...
Let this be a warning to you
Last night, we watched a movie on Netflix, and it ended around midnight. All I’d eaten for dinner was a bowl of cereal, so I was a little hungry. I could’ve done a lot of things, smarter things, but it had been brought to my attention that there was a Waffle House just minutes from here.
So I went.
Now, there’s no science to prove it and it’s barely mentioned in the...

I need to live in everyone else's reality
I’ve lamented the fact that now that I live in Austin, I’ll actually be missing out on SXSW because I’ll have a job, a new job, and multiple people have suggested that I can just get off for it. I mean, it’s a nice dream, but I’m not only a replaceable cog, I’ll be a brand new replaceable cog. They’re not going to give a shit that I want to listen to music...
Rather than break into people's houses to leave...
I’m feeling lazy after staying up late, so rather than drive all the way up north to watch movies, I’m going to go see THE ARTIST at Alamo down on my side of town. Then I’m going to hang out at a bar and watch basketball and drink some beer and eat some fried pickles.
But I really need to take a shower.
Somebody come wash me.
Come on! It’s Christmas!

Merry Christmas.
A Festivus miracle!
I didn’t do the math, but I think this is still available.
I'm so full...
We went to Sushi Japon for dinner. Very tasty. Going to go back at some point for the hibachi grill. After that, hit a coffee shop and had a giant cup of hot chocolate. You know, the kind with a hint of cinnamon. My belly is full and I want to curl up inside the evening like a cocoon.
What Christmas means to me...
I think I’m going to watch a double-feature of SHAME and A DANGEROUS METHOD and then hit a sports bar to watch the Thunder game.
My NBA Finals Predictions
If you remember, last season, I predicted the Oklahoma City Thunder would face the Chicago Bulls in the NBA Finals. That didn’t happen, even though both teams did make it to their conference finals.
This year, my prediction for the NBA Finals is…
Oklahoma City Thunder over the Chicago Bulls!
It will happen this year.

Plus all the perks and money they get from special interest and lobby groups.
And what do they do for all that money?
They try to get re-elected.
Why don’t we require them to work...

Hey, hey, it's Hump Day
I went and took my drug test this afternoon for the new job. Nothing better than pissing on your hand and not being able to wash it off. Not my fault. It’s like trying to direct a fire-hose into a Dixie cup. Splashback is inevitable.
I have a date tonight. Or maybe it’s a pre-date. I don’t know, I’ve never really been a traditional dater. Basically, a chick from a dating...

On the horizon...
Today I filled out all of my background information for the background check for this job. I’m pretty excited about it, of only for the fact that it’s the security I need to start making plans like I live here.
Coming up, there’s a free show featuring What Made Milwaukee Famous, then the Mountain Goats and the Lemonheads. Who knows what else will pop up?

The Things You Learn
Eric and I decided to take a drive. We ended up in Rockne, which I had joked was named after Knute Rockne. Joke was on me, because it was actually named for Knute Rockne.
We stopped at Leon’s, a little grocery/bar and then at this museum that had some cabins. The gentleman who had helped restore the cabins told us all of the history of the tiny town and the people who settled it, as well as...
