Wait, it was National Cleavage Day?
Wasn’t it just International Women’s Day?
There’s a lot of gender bias in all these female-centric holidays.

This and a bowl of popcorn are my Friday night. And I’m pretty cool with that.
I wish I had some popcorn.
Also, up for discussion...
I bought this frozen General Tso’s chicken, (Maybe the only thing I miss about Oklahoma is Asian Star. No good Chinese food down here.), and when I got the box out, I noticed it said: “InspirASIAN.”
Is that racist? It feels racist.
Also, the sauce was good, but the chicken…well, it might have been chicken.
Have I ever mentioned...
I have this irrational thing where when I’m cooking something in the oven, I compulsively picture taking the pan out with my teeth and it burns my lips?
Is that a disorder? Is there a name for it?

my last post setting off a string of couples arguing:
“What do you mean that number seems low to you? How many people have YOU slept with?”
Which reminds me of the scene in Clerks where the chick explains how she doesn’t count the 36 dicks she sucked in her number. I’ve known women who do that.
Which is why I thought the males’ numbers would be higher. You give a...
Does that seem low?
Both of these seem low to me:
Males 30-44 report an average of 6-8 female sexual partners in their lifetime (Mosher, Chandra, & Jones, 2005).
Females 30-44 report an average of 4 male sexual partners in their lifetime (Mosher, Chandra, & Jones, 2005).
I got this information from the Kinsey Institute, which I assume to be reliable.

So, the summer we were like 14, my cousin Lora came to visit for like two weeks. We had always been close, and I suppose, she’s the family member I’m closest to now.
It was summer and we were bored, so we decided to rent movies. I don’t even know how it happened, but we ended up getting Dream a Little Dream. That’s right, Corey Feldman, Corey Haim, Meredith...

In the end, he was left with himself, in dark rooms and corridors, in alleyways and daydreams. Solitude is the essence of the human condition. Any attempt to alter that is destined to end in failure. But he was nothing, if not a glutton for punishment. A goddamned glutton for punishment.
The sun was sure to rise soon.

Head on down to Threadgill’s South on Tuesday, March 27th for the CD release show for AMERICAN GIRLS, the new album by K Phillips & the Concho Pearls.
It seems my new tradition is to listen to ONE album during SXSW as I drive to and from downtown all week. Last year, that album was Middle Brother. This year, it was AMERICAN GIRLS.
If you don’t live here, you can order the album...

All of my friends from out of town left today, except Ryan, who turned down dinner with Jesse Malin to have dinner with me. I went down to pick him up at the hotel and parked on the street because it was free. We hung out in the room for a little bit, looking at pictures from the week and listening to music. When we walked down to my car, I see this dude breaking into my car. Apparently, one of...

A lot of you have been kind enough to reach out and have my mom in your thoughts. I was able to actually talk to her today and she sounds good. It seems they took care of the blood clot that was in her head and they expect a full recovery.
I know I talk a lot of shit on here, but I sincerely want to thank all of my friends who sent messages and especially those of you who were there to give me a...

It was a long and great day with amazing music and even better friends. I can’t even possibly convey it with words, but I’ll say this, I’m glad that our showcase is on Saturday because it’s the perfect end to a crazy week.
Everyone will be leaving, and I already miss them, but I have so many memories to hold onto.
The next couple of weeks are going to be tricky for me. I...
The Outlaw Roadshow
So, today, even more of my friends are playing music, all together at the same place.
If you’re in Austin, head down to Rusty Spurs on 7th to see Kasey Anderson, Flights, Runaway Dorothy, Son of the Sun, Old Jack, Heartless Bastards, (Okay, I don’t actually know Heartless Bastards yet, but I bet we get introduced.) and many, many more.
Nineteen bands. Ten kegs of free beer.

"Where I got friends who care for me..."
So, for those who didn’t know, my mom had a stroke last week. They called it a “non-bleeding” stroke. Anyway, she seemed to bounce back pretty quickly and they sent her home. Then today, my dad called me and said they took her back to the hospital and they sent her by helicopter to Tulsa and there was a blood clot in her head. Then my sister called and kind of made it worse...
Yesterday's Recap
I guess yesterday was actually the least “SXSW” day so far. And quite possibly, the best day so far.
I met Adam at his hotel and went with him to do press. While he was doing interviews, Alabama Shakes walks by and like a school girl, I shrieked inside and politely tapped Brittany as she came by and told her how awesome she was. Then, in mid-interview, Adam turns around and shouts to...
