eLeCTRIC PENCILS

Hello Friends, and welcome from my very own Internet connection. That’s right, I finally got my cable and Internet hooked up at home. Now it really feels like home, not just a place where I eat over the sink and masturbate.

Yesterday was my first pay day. Before I start bitching, let me just say how nice it is to get a two-week paycheck that is almost as much as you were previously making in a month. Ilikeitalot.

So, yeah, I joined a credit union a few weeks ago, and they said, “For the first 30 days, any checks you deposit will have a ten day business hold, so you might want to cash them and then deposit them.” Fair enough. I went out on my lunch break yesterday and went to Walmart, and they wouldn’t cash my check. Said their machine couldn’t read it. That kind of pissed me off. Then everyone said I should’ve just gone to The Money Box, so today, I did. Yeah, they couldn’t cash it either.

“Hi, I work for AT&T, perhaps you’ve heard of us?”

I finally got it cashed at John’s Food Mart. Very nice folks there. Right on Ben White past Burleson. Go see them for all your check cashing needs.

And now, rent and bills are paid and all that is good.

Last night, I made the trip down to San Marcos to see Bob Schneider, Band of Heathens and Little Brave. (Thanks, Stephanie again for putting me on the list!) It was fun. I met up with Tim and Candyce for the show, and then we went to IHOP for late night food. Good times.

But while I was at the show, I went to the bar to get a drink, and this gaggle of drunk women cut in front of me BECAUSE THEY’RE DOING SHOTS, Y’ALL!

One of them, a very, very lovely woman named Carly (like Carly Simon. That’s how she introduced herself) apologized and began chatting me up, despite the best efforts of her cock-blocking friend who kept saying “She’s taken!” That’s fantastic, ma’am. I’m just trying to get a drink.

Anyway, she asked if I was online, and I said does a bear shit in designer shoes on 6th Street? As I was leaving, she drunkenly yelled out “Electric Pencils! I’ll remember!”

I don’t know if she will or not, but she seemed like a genuinely nice person.

And she was hot.
